Paradise Place

A contemporary urban garden designed to transform the space between residential buildings into a functional green environment for relaxation, walking, play, and everyday life. Built entirely above an underground parking structure, the landscape uses carefully modelled terrain, green hills, spacious lawns, and curved pathways to create a natural sense of openness. Rich planting, including ornamental grasses, perennials, trees, and sedum-covered terraces and canopies, adds texture, seasonal character, and additional layers of greenery. The result is a cohesive landscape where architecture and nature work together to create a welcoming residential environment.

Landscape design and planting of a residential complex built above an underground parking structure

The landscape concept for this residential complex was developed with the idea of transforming the space between the buildings into a complete green environment — a place for relaxation, walking, children's play, and everyday contact with nature.

The main challenge in realizing the project was that the entire garden is built on the roof structure of an underground parking facility. This required precise landscape planning, careful terrain modelling, and the appropriate selection of trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennial plants adapted to the specific conditions of the site.

Gently modelled green hills, expansive lawns, and curved pedestrian paths create a sense of natural terrain and openness. The planting defines spaces with different characters — open areas, places for relaxation, green accents, and more intimate sections providing shade and privacy.

Ornamental grasses, flowering perennials, conifers, and deciduous species bring movement, texture, and seasonal variation to the garden. In this way, the planting is not simply a decorative element, but an integral part of the overall architectural environment of the complex.

To further enhance the presence of greenery, carpets of sedum planting were introduced on terraces and building canopies. They extend the landscape concept beyond the level of the courtyard and soften the architectural volumes, adding another green layer to the overall composition.

The aim of this project was to create not simply a landscaped courtyard, but a contemporary urban garden in which architecture and landscape work together as one.

The result is a green garden built above an underground parking structure, combining functionality, aesthetics, children's spaces, sedum planting on terraces and canopies, and rich vegetation — an example of contemporary landscape design within an urban residential environment.
